Angry Birds!!!

Angry Bird fan anyone?? Then, this cake is for you! These characters are hilarious, and I loved making them! Here are a few more pictures from other angles.

The Familiar One

This pretty thing makes me very happy. Know why? Because it looks incredibly similar to my wedding cake! It's really not a coincidence since I suggested the design of the cake; I just love the pretty swiss dots, ribbon, and colorful flowers.
Something new for me to make were the fondant monogram letter toppers. They were pretty quick to make, and I'd like to start marketing them. I love that they are completely customizable, and I think customers will love that too.

Cutie Squirrel

Here's a cute squirrel cake I made for a customer at the bakery. I thought he turned out sweet :)

Mad Hatter!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this cake! Infact, I couldn't wait to post a picture of it! I've been working on it this afternoon, and finished it about 30 minutes ago.  :)
This super fun, Mad Hatter inspired cake is for a friend's triplet daughters and their birthday Tea Party. I hope they love it as much as I do!
It is delicious and simple homemade white cake and buttercream all covered in colorful fondant.

Can't get over how much fun this cake is and how much I LOVE it!! :)

Can't go wrong with Roses...

Yesterday, was a very exciting and fulfilling day for me. I love making wedding cakes, and wish I could make one everyday. I love contributing to the beauty of a bride and groom's special day, and I enjoy focusing on all the specific details and wishes the bride envisions for her cake.

Yesterday's was a beautiful four tiered cake covered in rustic iced white buttercream all separated by delicate fresh pink and white roses, and lush lemon leaf. I was happy to get to use the wilton cake stand we used for my sister Leslie's wedding cake again, and I thought the whole cake turned out completely beautiful.

Mermaids, Butterflies, Sweet Peas, Rainbows, and More!

My mom, two of my sisters, and I just got back from a trip to disney world, so I was very excited to get to make a Mermaid Under the Sea Cake! I decided not to go for Ariel, but instead to make an anonymous pretty blonde mermaid with flowing hair.  :) She's my first mermaid, and she made me giggle several times while making her! I did love the water scene and the fish bubbles especially!

Nothing major here, but I liked the way the colorful butterflies turned out. Thought they were fun :)

We had a repeat order for another Sweet Pea cake after a soon-to-be dad saw a picture of our earlier cake and thought his wife would love it. Isn't that sweet! They don't know the sex of the baby yet, so we used pink and blue. Turned out cute!

Very simple with a rainbow border. Thought the colors were pretty.

Wouldn't be a complete week without zebra print! This was for a sweet 16 birthday. Used icing instead of fondant this time.

DON'T BREAK MY HEART, MY ACHY BREAKY HEART!
Isn't this funny! I texted this picture to my dad (the doctor) after I finished it, and he said it looked anatomically correct…so, that was affirming. :)
To boot, the inside was red velvet. Supposed to look like a heart monitor.

Lady called and wanted "pinstripes" on her cake. I thought she meant like a pinstripe suit…but she meant pinstripe detailing on a car. I covered it in fondant to make it ultra smoothe, and thought the detailing looked cool.

Couldn't believe graduation was still happening for anyone when we got this order, but it was a fun one! I made the hat out of paper after making too large of a square cake, and the tassel is cross stitching thread.

Lots of fun cakes!!

Here's a bunch of the fun cakes I've done over the past few weeks! Next time I'll try to post cakes as I do them so I can give better descriptions :) I thought there were a lot of colorful and exciting ones this time! The cookies at the bottom were for my brother and sister-in-law who recently had a baby girl named Leah, and they were made by another girl at the bakery. They were a big hit and were very delicious!

Do I use too much pink?

Never! On cakes, I don't think I will ever get tired of pink! Here's a sweet little display cake I made earlier this week. I wanted something simple that would appeal to both wedding and special occasion customers to help bring in business. Hopefully this little cutie will help!

By the way, did you notice the cute backdrop I put up at my station? My boss, Missy, was laughing at me as I was crawling up on the table trying to clip everything in place! I now have a convenient photo booth complete with lighting, all I have to do is plug in the light and untie the curtain! If anyone needs glamour shots, come on over to Sweet Indulgence! :)

Pretty Pansies

I thought I'd share a quick picture of these cute pansies I made last week to top some chocolate cupcakes. They were for a small party a lady was hosting for some of her friends, and pansies were her theme. She even brought in a silk flower to model after. I just LOVE flowers!

Fun Fact: Every time I see pansies, I think of how growing up my mom told me that she never understood why people were called "pansies" when they were being baby-ish or weak because the flower pansies are tough and stay in bloom all throughout the winter. Interesting, huh? :)
I also LOVE my momma!

Black, Pink, and Zebra…OH MY!!

The following cakes have been two of my favorites! I absolutely love the bright, fun colors. The round cake was actually much smaller than it appears. It was an 8,6,4in stacked. While it could feed 40 people, this was from an adoring husband just for he and his wife. How sweet! The funky square cake had plenty of exciting fondant details, and this one was quite large. It was for a 13th birthday party, and I'm assuming it was one exciting event! Both creations had delicious cakes inside including strawberry cream, red velvet, and chocolate raspberry to name a few. Yum! I feel so privileged to get to wrap up such delicious treats in such tasty and funky ways :)

Lots of Cakes

Sorry for all of the pictures at once. I've been meaning to post these for awhile. Here are several of the cakes I've done recently. I'll post them by size. (Oh, and the cute tinkerbell one I helped my friend, Mel, make at her house for her niece).
